WHERE IT STARTED
It started with the small things.
I started Sustainafilm in 2019 with a simple idea: make film and television production more sustainable. At first, that meant focusing on practical changes like LED lighting, recycling, and reducing waste on set.
But the more I learned about the environmental footprint of the film industry, the more I realized there was a much bigger opportunity to make a difference.

THE TURNING POINT
Then I learned about the generators.
When I learned more about the diesel generators powering film sets, I was horrified by the environmental impact. I began to see how much potential there was to rethink the way productions use energy.
I wanted to look beyond the obvious solutions and explore how science, data, and cleaner technologies could help the industry do things differently.
By combining my love of science with my passion for filmmaking, I found a way to turn that concern into something actionable. That idea became the foundation of Sustainafilm.

What began as a small initiative has grown into hands-on sustainability work across major film and television productions. Through production-specific engagements, I've supported sustainability initiatives on productions associated with leading studios and streaming platforms.
Every production is different. The work starts with understanding its needs, finding the right opportunities, and helping teams put meaningful changes into practice.
